Boston receives a lot of snow. In fact, Boston receives more snow
annually than both California and Florida combined. Why this doesn't
persuade people to split their year between these other two venues
is beyond my capacity to understand. Bostoners are legendary for
their ability to complain about the weather: they spend all winter
complaining about the snow, then they spend all summer complaining
about last winter's snow. Partly you want to pity them, and partly
you want to loan them the 100 dollars it would cost to
rent a moving van and solve their problem once and for all. It's
like the parable of the train rider who complains and complains about
the lack of pudding, and when many miles later the crew stops
in a city and gets the pudding, the main complains that he would
rather have his complaint.
