Chicago Rail These Chicago CTA stands are truly a miracle of early twentieth century design. Somewhere along the lines, somebody figured out that outdoor rail stands in the middle of winter should have built-in heating lamps so as not to run afoul of internationally accepted principles of basic human rights. The yellow light on the right hand side of the image is one such lamp. If I'm not mistaken, there were about seven people huddled under that lamp the day this picture was taken. And yes, the train was about one half hour late.
