Most people don't realize how beautiful these traditional, tacky lamps
can be when looked at from exactly the wrong angle. I happened to
be sitting on a couch in the middle of a hallway in an apartment complex
in Los Angeles, and I looked up to see this alien form staring
back down at me. It may have been the fact that I didn't actually know anybody in the complex in the time, but this remnant design of turn-of-the-century oil lamps really felt like it was something truly new descending from space to greet the people of Los Angeles. Of course, the city which gave us Botox and prostate cleanings probably wouldn't find the slightest thing weird about aliens landing, but it felt significant enough to take a picture worthy of ufocity.com |
